Early summer 2003. Iris Alanyani, an editor at the newspaper, the Welt, calls me up. “Are you familiar with Dr. Seuss?” she wants to know.
Hello?!
For the past 70 years millions of American children – including me! – have been learning the joy of reading with the books of cult writer Dr. Seuss. His books came late to Germany, but they, too, have been published in German, including the rhymes.
“Would you like to write a feature about Seuss?” Alanyani wants to know.
